Testing & Quality Control

Routine Test

Visual Inspection: Checking of dimension, paint shade, wiring quality, mounting, equipment identification, cable marking, IP class, earthing etc.
Operational Test of the switching device.
Functional tests are to be carried out on outgoing feeders to check their functioning as per approved circuit drawing.
Insulation Resistance of the power circuits is checked with a 1000 Volt megger.
High Voltage Test busbars at 2.5 kV for 1 minute (for 415 V Circuits) as per IS.
Insulation Resistance check on power circuit after HV Test.

Following are the Type Tests specified in the standard :

Dielectric Tests.
Temperature Rise Test.
Ingress Protection (IP) Test.
Short Time Current Withstand Test.
Tests to verify the protection of persons against dangerous electrical effects.
Tests to verify protection of the equipment against external effects due to weather and atmospheric agents.
Tests to verify the protection of the equipment against mechanical damage.
Internal Arc Fault Tests.
